Now listed
I don't know why I hadn't listed this before now. I think it's easy to get tunnel vision and get busy with projects that were alreay under way. I hope to have it listed with the mirrored branch and monogram later today. But it feels good to know that I'm gradually crossing things off my to do list.
Now to get to the rest of the list! More designs to come, I promise.

This is a photo from a project I did ages ago
But when I came across the photo (again), I decided it needed to be in our store. This was a custom design that I truly loved. The custom version consisted of 2 cherry blossom branches, if I remember correctly, they spanned almost 8-9 feet each. In the center was a Monogram with a cute little bird accent. It was a fun project to work on, a GREAT customer to work with. And customer photo's to go with it. I hope to have it listed in my Etsy store tomorrow. Well the Etsy version will be a bit smaller scale but will have the same great impact.
I have a couple fun idea's that I hope to create the decals to reflect in the next couple days. I know it's almost Christmas, but I have a few things that I really want to get finished before Christmas and the New Year is upon us. 2010 is going to be an exciting new year for circlelinestudio, we'll be introducing some great new products.

We're making Russian Tea Today
My two youngest kids are home from school for parent/teacher conference day, so we're going to do a few things to get ready for the holidays. It just wouldn't be Christmas around here with out Russian Tea. It's a definate family fav on those bitter cold 50* mornings. Okay we're in Vegas so we're never bitter cold, but we can pretend.
I can't believe it's already December 16th...Only 9 days til Christmas! Are you ready????
What's on your family's must have list?
I always make a batch of Russian Tea. And my MOM (thanks Mom) just told me she made a batch of divinity and fudge that should arrive priority mail today. We'll make frosted sugar cookies and plan for the big Christmas Feast. Around here that means Crab Legs. Cooking is not my best thing. So when my husband and I spent our first Christmas alone, I was a bit overwhelmed with the thought of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green bean casserole, and on and on like our mom's had done forever. I was young and fairly very good at boiling water, I knew I could do crab legs...so the Norsworthy Christmas tradition began.

Make it fun, Make it yourself, Make it meaningful
By getting an early start and letting yourself or your family be creative you'll find all kinds of ways to create meaningful, fun gifts.
I'm putting together some fun ideas that my kids can use as inexpensive fun gifts for their friends this holiday season.
My daughter is a jewelry junkie. She loves the bling! So this will be a fun project that she can do with supplies we have around the house.
So this week we'll be making scrabble tile necklaces for her to use as holiday gifts for her friends. I'm sure you've seen these, they're all over the internet. But you don't have to feel limited to scabble necklaces, these would make cute key chains, just use your imagination
Supplies we'll need.
Paper, scrabble tiles, scissors, craft glue, mod podge, paint brush, xacto knife, diamond glaze, E-6000 glue and jewelry bails.

With the holidays fast approaching
Please don't think I've forgotten about Fall. I love the fall season. But....
It's time to get organized. Are you ready to get started?
I'm taking the first step around here today. I picked up a cute little notebook to start organizing my many Christmas to do lists.
Lists of all those people on your shopping list.( with idea's and sizes handy)
Recipe lists for all the Holiday fav's. (like that russian tea recipe!!!)
Lists of people who we'll be sending Christmas cards to this year.
Lists of the gifts we'll be making this year. ( I'll be posting so fun easy projects along the way)
You get the idea, the best way to relieve holiday stress is well organized plan and a nice glass or merlot!
Let the countdown begin!

FALL is in the air
While the calendar says FALL is in the air (although my thermometer begs to differ) it dawned me it was time to break out the fall recipes. With Fall just around the corner, we'll soon see those cool fall mornings and with those come Fresh Pumpkin Muffins. My kids absolutely love pumpkin muffins with just a drop of cream cheese. It's a fall staple around our house.
Pumpkin Muffins
3 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp ground cloves
4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Pinch of cardamom (optional)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
2 cups cooked or canned pumpkin
1 ¼ cups vegetable oil
8 oz package cream cheese*
Chopped nuts** (walnuts, pecans) (optional)
Preheat oven to 350. Mix ingredients together except cream cheese and nuts. Fill muffin tins (greased or paper cups) half full. Put 1-2 tsp cream cheese in the middle, pressing down. Sprinkle with 1 tsp chopped nuts. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean from the muffin part (do not touch the cream cheese!). Let cool in pans for 5 minutes, then remove to racks to cool completely. Do not touch the cream cheese until it cools, as it is very very hot. Makes 24 muffins."

Customer Photo
I've been anxiously waiting to get a photo of this project. I was approached by Leslie to work on a design that would fit an area of her wall that was approx 8'x12'. When we started the process, Leslie emailed me a couple photos of the area she wanted the decal
We worked together to create a decal that fit her area and design ideas. Each branch ended up being approx 90" in length...I was soo excited to see her finished project.
It's so fun to start with a blank slate and design a decal in place. Working with Leslie was a complete joy and I love how her project turned out!

Just found!!
I just came across these skull earrings at tianarutledge's shop. I know she has them marked as halloween earrings but these skull earrings could easily become a fav of my daughter anytime. She recently got a new pair of grey converse sneakers with skulls on the heel and wears those constantly. These would be such a cute accessory.
An Incredible Customer Photo
I was approached by Anna from Modern Printed Matter, with a design she had created for the front of her store. She sent me the graphics, then with the help of her husband, they built the sign base using plexiglass, wood and stainless steel hardware and applied the vinyl graphic. Her design was incredible and makes such an elegant statement!

New Art in the store today
This design truly comes from the heart, I'm a night owl...My day usually starts at 5am, but in my heart I'm a night owl and often find myself up at almost midnight! Hence the design came about for the new almost midnight decal. I love the quiet peace of the house once everyone has gone to bed. It's my time of day to unwind, relax and reflect.
In the studio working on a couple new designs
By the end of the week I plan to have a couple new design listed in the etsy store. Until then, I'm frantically scrambling to get life in order. We're all still adjusting to the new schedules, kids buses, school, vet appts, household errands, circlelinestudio work. I pulled up to my sons bus stop yesterday morning only to see the bus pulling out ahead of us....so off we drove to the school 10 miles away. Today requires a trip to the mall for a button down dress shirt for him to wear to a engineering club meeting on Wednesday night. I'm ashamed to say my son does not have a button down dress shirt, he's out grown the last one we bought and it's been so long since he wore it, I didn't even notice. So I'm off to the mall...which is way the heck across town. After that I'm home to process orders, and DESIGN!
I've got dinner planned and after yesterdays trip to the grocery store we actually have food in the house ready to be cooked into an actual meal.

Putting things in order this week
Now that the kids are back in school, I'm getting back on track. NO more last minute trips to the grocery store to grab stuff to make dinner.
I put together a menu plan for the week along with a grocery list. I'm off to get that done this morning.
I pulled out an old recipe we haven't had in ages to try. It's a family fav!
Spaghetti Bolognese
1 cup canned tomatoes
2tbsp butter
1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 oz. pancetta
1 small onion finely chopped
1 small celery stalk finely chopped
1 small carrot finely chopped
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
6 oz lean ground beef
3 oz ground pork
1 oz moradella finely chopped
salt to taste
1/3 cup dry white wine
1/3 cup milk
pinch of nutmeg
2 tbsp tomato paste
2/3 cup beef broth
spaghetti
parmesan cheese
fresh ground pepper
In a large heavy pot melt 1 1/2 tbsp butter along with the olive oil. Stir in the pancetta and saute until lightly browned.
Add the onion, celery, carrot and parsley and cook until softened but not browned. Keep the heat low and add in the groud meat and mortadella. salt. Brown the meat using a wooden spoon to break up the chunks.
Pour in the wine, simmer very gently about 3 minutes while the alcohol evaporates.
Add the milk and nutmeg simmer for another 10 minutes, add in the tomatoe paste dissolved in 1/4 cup beef broth along with the canned tomatoes. Cover partially and simmer for at least 4 hours. Add remaining beef broth as the sauce cooks.
finally when the sauce is thick and creamy add in the remaining butter and the pepper.
cook the pasta, toast a bit of garlic bread, toss a salad and dinner is ready!

Back to School
The kids all started school this week and I think we're finally getting into a routine again.
Between bus schedules, home work, packing lunches, checking school folders, signing all those school forms.....it's been a busy week.
My kids love to take a home lunch and I must say I'm so glad they like to pack the lunches themselves. I do need to do a bit of planning so that it's easier for them to put a good lunch together each morning.
My kids all love sandwiches, soup, salads, carrots, fruit, crackers and cheese, yogurt, pudding. My plan for the next couple weeks it to get a system in place where I have all those types of things readily available for them to put into a lunch for the day.
If you have kids what is their favorite brown bag lunch?
